The results obtained in this investigation with hypnotic drugs indicate that a prescreening of patients on a single-blind basis may be of value in the elimination of patients suffering from mild insomnia or otherwise consistently responsive to placebo. The data further suggest that a three-day period may be optimal for such prescreening.
