Fifty children infected with Trichuristrichiura were treated with a combination of thiabendazole (30 mg. per kg. per day) and pyrvinium pamoate (10 mg. per kg. per day) for three consecutive days. The results were assessed by the examination of stools using the direct, the modified Faust enrichment, the Willys, and the Baermann methods, seven, 15, and 30 days after treatment. In three cases a fourth examination was carried out on the 45th day. In 46 cases all three feces examinations were negative, corresponding to a cure rate (percentage of negative stools) of 92 per cent. In every case a negative third examination was obtained. The medication was also effective in six cases of ascariasis and three cases of strongyloidiasis associated with trichuriasis. No signs of intolerance or toxic effects were observed.

We acknowledge with thanks the cooperation and assistance of Dr. Mauro Zucato, Dr. Italo Martirani, Miss Anita Mangels, and Dr. Lino Dias Rodrigues.
